GAFFNEY, SC- The Pfeiffer women's volleyball team (0-25, 0-16 CC) dropped their season finale to Limestone (11-16, 7-9 CC) 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons were paced by Talor Hewitt who posted a team-high seven kills and added 10 digs for Pfeiffer.
Pfeiffer dropped the first two sets, before getting back on track and taking the third set by a score of 25-20. The Falcons jumped out to a 9-4 lead, highlighted by a 4-0 run. The streak was ignited by a kill by Tiana Gildernew, and capped off with a Hewitt Kill. Pfeiffer went up 19-14 following a 5-0 run behind the service of Gildernew, the freshman rattled off two services aces. A kill by Erin Errington slammed the door on the Saints.
Limestone recorded 42 kill as a team compared to only 29 for Pfeiffer. The Saints were led by Rycki Ebert who had a match-high 13 kills and added five digs. Setter Aiden Rohrer registered a match-high 22 assists, added two services aces and three digs for the match.
Gildernew recorded at .364 hitting percentage, five kills, 10 assists and seven digs for a good all-around performance. Sam Smith chipped in with six kills, and senior libero Brittany Blackburn had 10 digs.
This is Pfeiffer's final match in Division II, as the Falcons will transition into Division III next season, as a member of the USA South.
