Box Score MISENHEIMER, NC- In the home opener the Pfeiffer women's volleyball team (0-6, 0-1 CC) dropped a 3-0 match to Conference Carolinas foe North Greenville (8-2, 2-0 CC) on Friday night. Sophomore Kayla Hyatt paced the Falcons recording a team-high seven kills, and 10 digs on the evening. Talor Hewitt chipped in with four total blocks, six kills and nine digs.
After dropping the first set 25-15, Pfeiffer jumped out to an early 8-4 lead in the second, highlighted by a 6-0 run. Tiana Gildernew sparked the run with a kill, followed by a service ace. Sam Smith capped off the rally with kill. However, the Crusaders retook the lead ending the set on a 7-3 run jumping out to a 2-0 match lead.
Annmarie Johnston led the way for North Greenville recording a match-high seven kills, while hitting a staggering .615, Johnston also added four total blocks on the evening. Senior setter Madison Pogue ran the Crusader offense registering a match-high 33 assists, and Taylor Waters chipped in with a team-high 10 digs.
Gildernew posted a team-high 13 assists for the Falcons, while junior Katie Wilson added 11 helpers and five digs on the evening. Smith notched five kills, three digs and two blocks assists for Pfeiffer.
The Falcons return to action tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. as the Falcons host Southern Wesleyan.
