Box Score Pfeiffer and N.C. Wesleyan Women's Soccer Battles to 1-1 Draw
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 6, 2021) – Despite dominating play through most of the match, the Pfeiffer University women's soccer team had to settle for a 1-1 draw in a USA South match with N.C. Wesleyan at Lefko Field on a sunny and cool Saturday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Pfeiffer controlled a majority of the match, unleashing 16 shots on the N.C. Wesleyan defense, with nine being on goal. The Falcons struck first in the 34th minute when Dayanna Riera (Bronx, N.Y.) ripped a shot in traffic after making several moves around Bishop defenders that found its way by NCWC goalkeeper Alicia Jacobs, putting Pfeiffer up 1-0.
Late in the second half, N.C. Wesleyan, who spent a majority of the game playing defense, was able to venture into Falcon territory. Isabel Neall took the first shot for the Bishops from distance that glanced off a Falcon defender and was directed high into the goal past Falcon goalkeeper Madison Riddle (Mocksville, N.C.) in the 88th minute.
In the two overtime periods, neither team was able to muster any quality scoring chances, ending the match in a 1-1 tie.
