Women's Cross Country Places Fourth in Season-Opening Meet at Catawba

^{Salisbury, N.C. (Sept. 8, 2024) - The Pfeiffer University women's cross country team opened the 2024 season with a 4th-place finish in the Fleet Feet Invitational hosted by Catawba College on Saturday morning.

Catawba College, currently ranked 20th in the Country, won the event while Pfeiffer was the lone Division III team entered into the event.}

^{Leading the way for Pfeiffer was sophomore Maddie Hladik, who ran a new course-best time of 21:18, placing 20th overall and was well over a minute faster than her time in the 2023 race.

Also running strong for Pfeiffer was fellow sophomore Makayla Borst who ran a 21:51 to place in 23rd. Freshman Ryan Germain opened her Pfeiffer career by placing 24th, with a time of 22:05. Sophomore Hayley Borst claimed 29th, with a new course best time of 22:49.

Rounding out the team times was sophomore Katelyn Lentz, who finished in 38th place with a time of 24:43.

The Falcons will turn their attention to hosting the Pfeiffer Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 14 in Misenheimer, N.C.}
